SPORTS: If you missed the 1st round of the NFL Draft, here are the picks

1. Indianapolis Colts – Andrew Luck, Stanford (QB)

  • Luck has great quarterback skills for the new Colts “run-oriented” offense

2. Washington Redskins – Robert Griffin III(RG3), Baylor (QB)

  • Great running quarterback for the Redskins blocking defense

3. Cleveland Browns – Trent Richardson, Alabama (RB)

  • Their offense needed a good running back, who can also catch, to help out the QB

4. Minnesota Vikings – Matt Kalil, USC (OT)

  • Offensive line needs help in order to give QB time and for Adrian Peterson

5. Jacksonville Jaguars – Justin Blackmon, OKSU (WR)

  • Their offense just needs all the help they can get, especially this playmaker.

6. Dallas Cowboys – Morris Claiborne, LSU (CB)

  • Cowboys defense was horrible last year and adding a cornerback is a BIG factor for the secondary

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Mark Barron, Alabama (S)

  • Both sides of the field need work for the Bucs, but with Barron & veteran Barber on defense will better man-on-man defense

8. Miami Dolphins – Ryan Tannehill, Texas A&M (QB)

  • Since Dolphins couldn’t get Manning over the past few months and didn’t have high enough picks to get Luck or Griffin, they had to get Tannehill, a quarterback people say will “shock the NFL” even with his limited experience.

9. Carolina Panthers – Luke Kuechly, Boston College (ILB)

  • Great move for the defense, who have already have great LBs but they were injured.  As we saw, Newton broke all type of records on offense but still had losses, resulting in draft picks for defense (even though I see some offense picks coming in other rounds)

10. Buffalo Bills – Stephon Gilmore, South Carolina (CB)

  • Bills had their shocking beginning of the 2011 season, but fell off BAD at the end, especially for their defense who allowed a load of passing yards.

11. Kansas City  – Dontari Poe, Memphis

12. Philadelphia Eagles – Fletcher Cox, Mississippi

13. Arizona Cardinals – Michael Floyd, Notre Dame

14. St. Louis Rams – Michael Brockers, LSU

15. Seattle Seahawks – Bruce Irvin, WVU

16. New York Jets – Quinton Coples,  North Carolina

17. Cincinnati Bengals – Dre Kirkpatrick, Alabama

18. San Diego Chargers – Melvin Ingram, South Carolina

19. Chicago Bears – Shea McClellin, Boise St

20. Tennessee Titans – Kendall Wright, Baylor

21. New England Patriots – Chandler Jones, Syracuse

22. Cleveland Browns – Brandon Weeden, OKSU

23. Detroit Lions – Riley Reiff, Iowa

24. Pittsburgh Steelers – David DeCastro, Stanford

25. New England Patriots – Dont’a Hightower, Alabama

26. Houston Texans – Whitney Mercilus, Illinois

27. Cincinnati Bengals – Kevin Zeitler, Wisconsin

28. Greenbay Packers – Nick Perry, USC

29. Minnesota Vikings – Harrison Smith, Notre Dame

30. San Francisco 49ers – A.J. Jenkins, Illinois

31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Doug Martin, Boise St

32. New York Giants – David Wilson, Virginia Tech
