Fauja Singh will turn 102 in a few months. This landmark age will finally make him too old to continue his favorite pastime: running marathons.
Singh, who is reportedly too old to prove his own age, announced that he will be retiring from marathons upon his 102nd birthday. He will, however, be participating in Hong Kong’s Marathon on February 24th.
Singh not only claims that he was born on April 1st, 1911, but that he also does not suffer from any age-induced illnesses nor does he take any medicines to keep him fit enough to complete a marathon at over 100 years of age.
“The reason for my good health is that I exercise daily and follow a proper diet regime,” he was quoted as saying. “I take happiness in biggest proportions though my actual diet is very small.”
Singh’s exercise regime consists of running over twenty five miles on a regular basis. He says that he will now only run an average of four hours a day until he is dead.
No medicine, no superpowers, just exercise. All of you taking supplements just to get through a rough session at the gym should be ashamed of yourselves.
