Director Spike Lee started production on his latest joint “Red Hook Summer” quite surprisingly during this Summer and just as surprsingly (and quickly) it wrapped production 2-3 weeks later. With no warning and seemingly no signs of a distributor, it looks like Spike is going the indie route again with his latest film. Whatever the case, Spike took to Twitter to announce that the secretive “Red Hook Summer” would be expected to release next Summer. “Red Hook Summer” is about an Atlanta man coming to spend his Summer in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY. “Red Hook Summer” stars Nate Parker (“The Great Debaters”, “Pride” and the upcoming “Red Tails”), Clarke Peters (HBO’s “Treme” and “The Wire”), Samantha Ivers, Limary Agosto, Heather Simms and Spike Lee is reprising his role as Mookie from 1989′s classic “Do The Right Thing”.
